PLAINVILLE, CONN, - Tony Mordino and Bob Vivari tied for
first place honors in the 50 lap madcap at the Plainville
Stadium Saturday night. Both drivers accumulated a total of 34
points for the two 25 lap races that makeup the madcap.
Dave Germano took the lead in the first 25 lap race. On the
fifth lap Tony Dadio took over in the 09. He was hotly pursued
by Mordino in the #3. The red flag came out on the 18th
lap and on the restart Mordino took over the lead. Mordino held
it to the finish with Dadio in second spot. Vivari finished
third in the 6X, and Dave Germano was fourth.
In the second 25 lap race, Bobby Black held off Elton Hill until
the red flag came out on the 18th lap. On the restart
Hill moved into the lead. Crossing the finish line, it was Hill,
Black, and Pud Noble in the 2X. Sherm Saunders took the fourth
position.
The final results showed a tie for first between Vivari and
Mordino. A tie for third went to Tony Dadio and Sherm Saunders.
Pud Noble tied his 2X with Elton Hill for fifth.
