August 11, 1963

SNYDER’S CORNERS, N.Y., Aug. 11th—Before a bumper crowd of race fans and thrill show devotees, Charlie Centinaro of Waterbury, Conn., returned to the “Speedway in the Pines” and left conqueror of a top field of stock aces Sunday afternoon.

The feature event got off with Bob Head stealing the lead, but on the third lap Head gave way to Al Keesler, who looked like a sure victor, however it was not Keesler’s lucky day and he dropped out with an oil leak on the nineteenth lap then it was Centanaro and the Godio Hudson right down to Johnny Rogerson’s checkered flag. Centinaro was followed across the line boy Lou Toro, Lou Judson, Johnny Meyers, Billy Boo, Cort Holt, Pete Peterson, Hoppy Jensen, Smiley Taylor and Jack Battaglia.
